It is always tricky since one grader may feel one way and the next guy feels Marvel chipping is a big defect. If it was an exact science we would all do great on every grading contest. From what I've noted about grading in general, raw and slabbed, is that if the spine is almost defect free, the grade will tend to be far less impacted by defects unrelated to the spine rather than if the spine is ragged and the rest of the book almost free from defect. I may go all in with a 6.0! I would not be surprised based on the results of the grading contest. Some 3.0/3.5 books always get a few people guessing 4.5/5.0 each time. But it came back with a married cover My home run book turned into a pop up out book in one quick minute. Saw the 4.5 first and saw dollar signs and then read further.
