That's a great book! They avoided doing any CT on it, which tells me the restoration was done primarily with conservation in mind.

Exactly! It was conserved, no unnecessary restoration was done to the book. (CT, or added pieces)

 

With CT and small piece added to the top spine this could easily be made into 7.0. But I think it's much better this way. Looks great to me!

Sold for 22k. Far cry from the 34k asking price, and shows that restored books are still way down.

I agree, what a great deal for the buyer. If I had that kind of money I'd have been all over that one.
