Rockwell to Lucas Museum

You beat me to it. In that previous article that Eric posted it was revealed that Berkshire had been approved to sell some at Sotheby's and that one would be sold privately. My guess was: to Lucas for the new museum. Cool to be dead on, as I'm often wrong otherwise in similar matters.

Having trouble finding the issue number?  Anybody?

If we look on the left of the comic we can see the 'conforms to the comics code' star Gleason was using circa 1950, and there was also usually a text box below the star as we can see here ("TRUE CRIMINAL CASE HISTORIES").

There are also some word balloons the placement of which should also help with the issue number, and a yellow stripe at the top of the comic, and a black stripe at the bottom, but I can't find it.

Has to be one of these two titles.   The big star and the thin white "LEV GLEASON PUBLISHER" banner fit too well.

Anybody want to crack out their photo journals?    Not that many issues with the big star.

Okay, I think I found it.  Crime Does Not Pay 82:

- yellow strip at top

-black banner top left

-black strip at bottom

-Dec 1949 like the WDCS

-warm color palette in the central image

-word balloon placement

Agreed.  Well-spotted.
