Happy Memorial Day weekend to all!  We take time to celebrate peace, honor veterans and show our national pride!

Since 1941, no superhero embodied American values, patriotism and heroic character better than Captain America.  Presenting one of the most definitive, iconic and marketable images ever drawn of Captain America! Created for the Marvel 1975 Calendar and Pocket Comics cover, Romita's classic Cap image was used for next 40 years on Marvel house ads, merchandise and licensed items such as toys, posters, books, T-shirts, stickers, gum cards, pillows, the famous 7-11 Slurpee cup...and the modern Toon Tumbler.  I've already found 40+ items (examples below) displaying this Romita Cap image...there are probably dozens more! I really love this piece beyond admiration for the art as it feeds a deep nostalgia with comics, cards and toys from my youth.  Go USA!

dude,

congrats on taking this down at the Heritage auction. I wanted to bid heavy on it, but couldn't free up the funds in time to make a serious run. Absolutely LOVE this image of Cap for the nostalgic reasons you mentioned. It's one of the definitive images of the Bronze Age for me.
