I miss 1981 when I first starting collecting comics.

I miss equating reading comics in my early days of collecting to current pop tunes and somehow equating certain comics to certain tunes.

I miss my pre-code horror collection consisting of 3 full long-boxes and about 80% of all pre-code horror..

I miss my Atlas collection of almost every Atlas pre and post code horror/sci-fi.

I miss my SA collection with long runs of Spidey, Iron Man, Daredevil and the pre-hero Marvel titles now with heroes.

I miss my super-ultra-dripping gloss-uber HG run of House of Mystery Dial H for Hero complete run.

I miss my Powerhouse Peppers.

I miss my incredible Spirit Sections.

I miss my run of Schomburg airbrush covers.

I miss my runs of Wings and Rangers. I especially miss my Rangers 14.

I miss buying pre-code horror for $10-20 a shot.

I miss my short boxes of HG BA that were wrecked in a watery garage.

I miss that nice Cap 75 hanging on the wall at one of the first Boston shows for $275 because it was "huh? 275? You nutz???" and not buying it.

I miss my Action #1 and my Superman #14.

I miss Boston and a slew of LCSs with SA and GA out the wazoo.

OK - I am sufficiently depressed now.

You had all that? That was a serious collection - I'd be feeling equally grim.

Those were the best!

When did they stop making those?

Was it the late 70s... confused.gif

I heard a nasty rumor at the time they were so good that competitors saw to it they went out of busness.

Thanks. Live and learn frown.gif.

But I AM having a heck of a time with the DC/Charlton BA!!!!!! So much new material (to me). And the cool thing is that now these BA books are pretty much the same age as the SA books were back then.
