If you use pencil eraser, the gloss IS affected, which is why I only used that method once.

You don't use pencil eraser 893whatthe.gifmakepoint.gif

That's a sure-fire error . . .

I know that....now. tongue.gif Like I said, only used it once. foreheadslap.gif Maybe I will try the white art erasers. Any specific brand?

I knew it was only a matter of time before dry cleaning was brought up. Looks like the topic is merrily on its way to being analzed to death. tongue.gif

Pretty nice book I'd say its a 6.5-7.0 (hard to say as you can't see the full extent of the damage on the bottom LHC). The only think I would say is that you could get a slabbed 8.0 for around $200. Still this is one book I hope to repurchase shortly.

Yeah, I know. I was watching someone's slabbed 8.0 recently (I think it was Rocketeer) and it went for $200+, which I could not afford. I was surprised at how much they are going for on eBay, even beat copies often crack $50. confused-smiley-013.gif Here are a few interesting past auctions....

Could have been mine? I recently sold mine for $260 after I agreed to sell it for $240 on Pedigree but the buyer failed to come through with payment. Still you have a nice looking book there, slap it in a mylar.

Was yours the one with great eye appeal? I think you said it looked better than the 8.0 it was given? That was such a sweet book, I bid but it shot out of my price range. frown.gif

I miss it already frown.gif but I plan to buy a 9.2 copy hopefully in a few weeks.

That's the one. hail.gif What brought it down to an 8.0 anyway? BC flaws? It's a moot point now, but I am still curious...

I'm intrigued by this Wonder Bread cleaning process...so how EXACTLY do you apply/rub on the comic with the bread? Do you ball it up and use like an eraser, or just rub a piece of whole bread on the dirt? And does it have to be WONDER bread or will any old white bread do? Thanks!

Any whitre bread will work ok, I would take people's suggestions and go with the white art eraser insead though.

By the way...I got the book today and it's in the grading thread. Let me know your thoughts on this everyone. Thanks.
