I agree. I say the DC most of us loved basically ended around Crisis on Infinite Earths, while the Marvel we loved similarly ended around Secret Wars. The irony of both Crisis and Secret Wars was they were suppose to be jumping on points, but history might now look at them as jumping off points. ComicConnoisseur
What I liked about the Curt Swan Superman was it was in it's own universe and we didn't have to go buy a bunch of crossovers. I also likened Curt Swan as the Superman artist similar to how Carl Barks was the Ducks artist. kav, Gnasher, 1950's war comics and 1 other

Jaylam
One of my favorite Superman covers from the Silver Age wasn't even drawn by Swan. Can you guess which one? Hint: Infantino and Anderson. kav

Shadow
When I was younger I considered Swan’s work to be the baseline for measurement. Clean, concise, kind of average. Missed the Adams detail, Wrightson flow, etc. Over time, I came to have a deeper respect for his work. His work reminds me of my youth in the 70’s Gnasher, ComicConnoisseur and kav
