Silver Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Nice books Silver, but that is one pretty rough looking 8.0. The slab is messed up on the top, I am gonna break it out and scan it. It is census highest, and such a very tough book to get above a good. World's Finest in the 90's (around 1957/8) are just awful to get in nice shape. Marvel collector's don't know how good they got it, all they need is money, high grade books are always available. Im beginning to run into 2 problems: 1-I seem to have the more common and easier to find books 2-The ones I need fall into one of two categories: a-they are tough to find in 9.4 or better such as some of the early Adams and Adams Man-Bat books or b-they are the cheaper 30c and up covers (include the Dollar Comics too) that just do not have the price point to purchase raw and submit for a chance at a good flip. So therefore, there are very few of them that are popping up. I guess i need to start looking for raw ones to slab :shrug: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

lizards2 Posted August 8, 2008 Share Posted August 8, 2008 I went over to Eugene this weekend for new student orientation with my daughter, Kerry, who begins at the U of O this fall. While there, I went by the shadow knows / Dennis' shop on Monday. It was great meeting him for the first time, and reminiscing about all the people, places and conventions that we had in common growing up in the comic hobby. It was a little mind-boggling to be in a real comic shop with extensive back issues again - it had been quite awhile for me. I was mostly stopping by to meet him and say "hi", so really wasn't armed with cash to buy much. I did end up buying an Aquaman 26 and a AAMOW 90 that were really nice.
