Missing piece and how it affects grade 0

If the rest of the book was a 7.5 how much would this hurt the overall grade?  It's definitely not chipping, I'm just not sure how big a hit it would be.  Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Depending on how much of the book is missing and whether or not it effects the story or the overall appearance, it may not effect the grade at all. In one of the grading tournaments a few years back there was a controversial book that had a chunk out of the cover similar to what you indicate in your post and the book had a grade somewhere around 9.2 or higher if memory serves me correctly. If any of the other boardies recall the incident maybe they'll post it here. As for your book I can't be certain that CGC wouldn't downgrade because of the missing piece or possibly CGC would leave the grade as is. Sorry if this isn't quite the answer you're looking for.
