I'm trying to recollect but I think Bob Kane said he wanted to make a character that was much like 'Zorro' and someone else, possibly a vampire. The other Bat-aholics can correct me on this.

I'm hesitant to say it for fear of it being taken the wrong way, but the hanged man on the cover of that Bat Man Spicy Mystery pulp looks exactly like Jay Maybruck to me!

I've seen Jay make that same face trying to close a big deal!
