I've always leery of buying expensive raw books, after having issues in the past with books coming back restored or trimmed. But I picked this up on the weekend. I have had a great experience with the seller and his grades previously have met expectations. What do you make of this book. There is an issue on the top left corner, otherwise it is pretty clean. Is this also something a press would help?

Well spotted. It's a pretty solid copy otherwise, I'm at a 5.0 solid, possibilities for a 5.5

A nice solid mid grade copy, but that sub crease breaks color...5.0 works for me...

No idea about pressing. 5.5 IMO.

I think it could hit a 6.0, even with the crease, as long as you press it for the corner.

I also think 6.0 is not out of the question. Presents very nicely.

The book looks really nice -- I'll guess a very pretty 5.5.

I really hate to say this, but safe than sorry and all that -- I would check for color touch before submitting. To me it's 'unusual' that the book has a subscription crease that breaks a bit of color on both sides, and yet the black line of the spine looks razor-sharp with barely a single color flake missing except for the upper left corner, which looks like it could have been a mailing dent later in life. (The ULC creases look like they 'could' have a bit but I'm hopeful it's just the light?) Check the spine and both center creases carefully. You never know.

That's good advice. Or have CGC pre-screen before slabbing. They've caught a couple of CT'd books for me... and fixed one of them.
