Things don't work out for the partnership but Spider-Man is able to help him out a bit in his personal life. Much to the relief of her husband and her friends, Liz delivers a healthy baby boy. 
NOTE: Norman "Normie" Harold Osborn is born in this issue but he is not named until Amazing Spider-Man #265.

Spider-Man, who has been alerted to Firelord's presence by his spider sense, intervenes and the two then square off against each other.

Vera is transported into a California condo facsimile by the monolith. Here she rapidly ages until she dies and is converted by the monolith into an embryo-type creature referred to as a 'new seed' to explore the galaxy.
