the_blink
Hi, I am new to comic collecting/preserving and I have two copies of batman damned issue one cover B and I am unsure on how to keep them pristine condition. I noticed that mycomicshop.com valued them at more than what I paid for them ($7 apiece) so I would like to keep them in as good of a condition as I possibly can. Hi blink, welcome to the forums there are many views of handling and storing your comics, I would suggest reading through some of the threads specifically storage, but most collectors either slab (grade and encase through 3rd party companies like this one CGC) to help preserve and get a experts opinion of the condition of their comic or store in mylar bags (more expensive) or poly with boards in a comic box in a cool dry location as to prevent any water or excess humidity from getting to them. Best of luck. The Lions Den
Crops068
You can also use Magazine Top Loaders along with bags and boards. I would recommend getting it graded and slabbed though.
Krismusic
I am not to familiar with modern collectors slabbing books but the only moderns I have that are slabbed are CGC SS books, I usually only slab older stuff or things I like to look at often as I have more confidence that I wont damage the comic any further if they are slabbed compared to me yanking raws in and out of my box and having one maybe fall out of my clumsy fingers, etc... I have a Damned 1B getting graded and slabbed currently but it is SS. Before getting it signed I had this top loader for it - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KAFJQKK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=

Tis the same toploader, your link is just direct from BCW and a 10-pack. I didn't need 10 and was fine with the price when I needed it.

Crops068
Silver Age will not fit the Damned book. I have Silver Age Top Loaders already and Damned is too large for it. It is a Magazine sized book.
csaag
Don't forget about the environment where you store them - i.e sunlight/humidity Jeffro.

Much more so than whether it's encased in plastic or not. Edited May 30, 2019 by Jeffro.
the_blink
Thank you everyone who has replied so far! I have gotten a magazine sleeve and back board and I keep them on a book case in a room with no direct sunlight. We have come into a few other comics we would like to preserve in slabs and read up on acid free boards and sleeves until we have enough comics to send in to get graded.
