Took me three tries to get a copy of this one that I'm actually happy with.  Four Color 402 is not a book on many radars... but for those who are looking for a copy, it's notoriously hard to find and even harder to find in anything other than the lowest grades.  The first copy was literally the only copy I turned up in years of looking.  It has a bit of a rep in the Looney Tunes thread as the "Sniffles chewed" copy.  The second was at least a step up where I wasn't paying multiples of guide for a book that wasn't much better than I had. The third... is one of the most beautiful 50's books I've ever owned in my life.

Mary Jane & Sniffles is a personal all time favorite of mine; even years before I read any of the stories my Dad would use "Now I close my eyes real tight/ And I wish with all my might/ Magic words of 'Poof, poof, piffles'/ Make me just as small as Sniffles!" as a nursery rhyme.  Easily the best feature in the Dell Looney Tunes comic by a mile.

I am actually someone who does not collect multiples of the same issue. I get loving a cover so much that you want more but for me, one is enough. If I get doubles I always sell the lower grade and continue to collect.

That being said, if I had to collect multiple of one cover it would be this one. It ranks up there as one of my all time favourites. Something about the all black and purple lined coffin just does it for me.
