Example of why CGC exists.

Well, he has good enough scans for potential buyers to look for themselves. If they still buy, and then complain afterwards about the grade then I'd say it was the buyer's fault. I do think the books are overgraded, but at least it's not a horrible example of overgrading. I thought the first Flash book up there (I forgot the number) was kinda close. But either way, he has scans which should let the buyer know.

Your right the scans do show the flaw but I have a pet peeve of sellers over grading their books. I collect ephemra of all kinds and I have had to return too many items for them being over graded. It always makes for an uncomfortable situation. The first book was kinda close but Flash 121 was not Fine/VF. I think that there are way too many dogear creases on the lower right corner.

Here is an auction currently on ebay. IMHO the scans of the books do not match with the grade the the seller has given them.

What do you think?

Since when has Fine and VG+ been considered 'high grade'? confused-smiley-013.gif

And this isn't why CGC exists...these puppies would never require slabbing in a month of Sundays.

And as Kingofrulers has rightly pointed out, the scans are good enough for the buyer to make his/her own mind up anyway.

Although I'm finding most people don't know how to grade when buying or selling.

Agreed. I think most people don't take the time to really go over a book and give an honest opinion. They tend to ignore stuff like staple pulls, stains, (or 2 inch rips Christo_pull_hair.gif) etc and they really have an impact on the final grade.
