If that is the first spider-woman, then this is the first Iron Man, War Machine, and Bender from Futurama.

I thought that was in The Steam Man of the Prairies circa 1868. The_steam_man_of_the_prairies_(1868)_big.thumb.jpg.2f8c1c66b286ec5b7bbdcc1c36cf4848.jpgscreen_shot_2018-01-10_at_2_20.10_pm.png.39de81cef39ed3d1df09b3ef20e97518.png

I suggest that 3 suction cups on the soles of your shoes would not enable you to climb anything.

I agree. Either one big one, or two or four smaller ones. Like 3-legged tables, three suction cups wouldn't be stable, unless you added one to your forehead. , ^^

Or, go completely modern, and retcon it as Miles Morales’ grandmother.

’When I was a teenager back in the 70s, I tried being a Spider-Woman.  Runs in the family’.

‘Sure I saw Thanos in a helicopter as well.’

Now we are talkin !! first appearance baby !

The point was that the character had historical influences well predating the modern Marvel character. Of course the characters are distinct and not directly related. However, I found the reference to "Spider-Woman" from a 1944 Chesler book interesting for historical reasons.
