FF 72 Double Cover

I recently picked up a double cover copy of FF 72, although it was missing the 1st 2 centerfolds. I was wondering if because it was a double cover, already a manufacturing defect, it could have possibly been manufactured w/o the centerfolds. Has anyone every experienced this before? Or am I just dealing with a normal incomplete book with a double cover?

If it's missing even one specific page that should be there, it's incomplete, even if there are 10 extra duplicative components..

It is incomplete. I just don't know if its ever been known for a book to be incomplete due to a manufacturing error.

Quite uncommon in my experience, for a double cover to have missing interior pages. If anything, they usually have more. Thinking about it, I can't envisage a scenario where someone would remove the pages from a double cover copy as they are generally highly prized. So it's almost certainly a genuine manufacturing scenario. If you were going to try to create a double cover,  you'd need two copies so would be able to replace any missing interior pages too! I jest.

Alas, the absence of pages almost certainly negates any premium the double cover might bring. Sorry.

Any chance of pictures?

It's very unusual for the 1st 2 wraps to be missing on a double cover book. In my experience, books with multiple covers are nearly always complete. I have seen a book with a manufacturing error that was incomplete, but that's because some of the interior wraps were inserted twice. The book was missing the pages that'd been replaced by the duplicate wraps...

He stated the "first 2 centerfolds". Which I understood to be the two leaves at the center of the book. If it was the first two wraps, plus a double cover, that would be the first time I've ever heard or seen that manufacturing error.
