Comic removed from bound collection
1 1

Hi!

I have one very nice copy of X-men 101 that was stored in in a bound collection (see images). The staples were removed and string inserted through and as you can see from attached images it was cut pretty badly. I know it's always going to be a low grade and I probably will never get back the cost of having it slabbed but I've been scanning the forums and Google.ing this thing but I find it unclear if this would automatically get 1.0 or what the max grade would be for comic like this.

Does anyone have an idea what's the maximum grade a book like this could get (if nothing else could be found wrong with it), and what label it would qualify as (blue/green)?

And if I would insert new/old stables to it would it improve the grade or would it just move it to the purple label category?

Best regards,
 Lee

The only thing I can compare this to is a book I saw that had been bound in a 3 ring binder (so it had three moderate sized holes near the spine that went completely through the book). As I recall, that book received a blue label 3.0. So I think you're probably  in that territory with this one, as long as there's nothing else going on...

Of course, if there are no staples, that's a completely different issue...  hm

Update: I removed it from the binder and now it looks like this. It has not been cut (top/bottom/sides) but the stables are missing. Other issues with this comic I believe could be dry cleaned and pressed out. Shame since it's a very good looking copy, like I think of all my children comics :)

Thanks guys for your input..I really appreciate it.
