My thoughts exactly. I got mixed up on the calendar and the days and was expecting them yesterday. The Classics Illustrated, though cool in their own way,  were a  bit of a surprise.

After golden, before silver, the 50's. There is some debate around the division. But themes changed, a preoccupation with post-nuclear paranoia emerged, and Atlas produced some cool stuff.

Not necessarily. Early 50's was pre-code.

I would say right after WWII to the end of pre code, so about 1946-1955. Mainly because a lot of Atomic named books started popping up then i.e. Atoman, Atomic Comics etc. Also considering we dropped the bomb in 1945 so there is the biggest example. But everyone has their range, Bottom line, some good books will be coming up!

I had a girlfriend from about 1979 to 1981 that would lay awake at night, sure that the bomb was going to be dropped any minute.

I couldn't quite understand it, but she'd had some other trauma in her life (yeah, maybe even including me...,) that maybe made her susceptible to it.  

I found out a couple years ago she had died at about age 54 or so - R.I.P. Randi - no real reference as to cause, but it sounded like the big C.
