8.5 feels right to me also - the back cover feels like not a 9.0

Does it matter that I tell you the book was cleaned and pressed?

It does... I then see CGC giving it a 9.6 but you probably got that one grader in modern that overgrades some submissions and he/she gave it a 9.8.  
There's also that grading-nazi in modern that hits everything hard and he/she gave it a 9.2 

Too inconsistent and now I'm confused

Funny to see this because on my last submission I got a 9.6 that looked like a 8.5 and an 8.0 that looked like a 9.6.  

I thought 8.5 for this What If 10 before seeing that it was pressed/cleaned.
