Surfing Alien
Since the thread was revived with a Weinberg Planet, I'll post mine here. My 2 pulp pickups from the Friday night auction including March 1951, the only one of the Allen Anderson Planets on my must have list that I didn't have yet. The Weinberg Planets looked exceptionally bright and white paged. waaaghboss, Pat Calhoun and comicjack

It's crazy - a copy sold on ebay over $500 in February, and it looked real nice but Planets from that collection were trimmed (I know, I bought 2 of them ) and that one appeared to be as well from the sliver of the fore edge the seller showed in pics. Otherwise, what comicjack said. When an iconic cover starts showing up on t-shirts, you better make sure you have one in the fold and these were really nice. comicjack, OtherEric and Robot Man
Popular Post BitterOldMan
Previously posted. I purchased this pulp magazine at 2017 OAFCON from a woman who was selling her father’s collection. Original cover was painted by Allen Anderson and auctioned on Heritage. comicjack, waaaghboss, OtherEric and 3 others

If you search completed one also sold for under $25. Around the same time. That is quite the spread. I understand 2 people who wanted it bad going at it. But after the first one gets it, the price will start to drop. Yeah, it’s a nice cover but not much better than most in that part of the run. If this one brings that much, I’d hate to see what the one with the girl in the tube would go for… I’ve got a nice un-trimmed vg copy. If someone is willing to pay $500. for it PM me. True but that was a rag with large chips and a taped spine. Several other decent copies have gone for $150-250 while on my radar and none for under $100. I think that's more like what the current price is/should be for a nice VG to Fine copy. Favorites are a matter of personal preference but I think the market is speaking on this one because most Anderson covers are up often on ebay but this one seems to be held dearer and I don't blame folks. It's my favorite along with March 1952 and the Test tube babe cover you alluded to. Pretty sure it was featured in Steranko's book which doesn't hurt either. I've also seen that t-shirt in the general public, not just at a con so it's got some public recognition factor going as well.
