If a person owns a book believed to be a 9.8 candidate, does that have to go through its own pre-screening? Or may it be submitted at normal?

Good morning, thanks for your message. A single book would not be able to go through pre-screen.  You must have at least 25 books to qualify for that service.  You can submit the book for regular grading, however, there would be no guarantee that the book would receive a 9.8.

I guess I wasn't clear with my question. What I meant was, is the only way to obtain a 9.8 though pre-screening?

The answer is no.  Plenty of people get 9.8s without prescreening.
