Bought from a shop in the 1980's and somehow missed this defect. As can be seen from the last pic, at one point there was tape holding the "scab" in place. Looks like the scab came off with the bandage... again, happened pre-purchase. I put a sheet of paper behind cover to better show the missing piece. Rest of book, sadly, is pretty nice.
