Valiants? Does anyone really buy them?

9 posts in this topic

I see people trying to sell Valiants every day. I don't see too many sales, but lots of listings. Are they really as "hot" as people say they are? I have a few hundered books of these and would lover to sell them to anyone!

Is there a solid market for them?????????? I need to KNOW!

I kept a set of my pre-Unity Valliant's, they have lower print runs. I sold the rest off when they were still hot, thankfully. Some of the later issues have lower print runs as well. Maybe they will be revived one day, and collector interest will return? confused-smiley-013.gif

I wonder if the Seaboard/Atlas books will do the same, short run on all titles. That Gothic Romances is a pricey sucker! Christo_pull_hair.gif

the pre-unity stuff sells, particularly 9.6+ slabs.

excluding some of the "rare" later issues, which can go for a couple of bucks, the other stuff is really only sellable in big lots for 20 cents or whatever each.

95% of Valiant books in print are still worthless.

Here are the ones people will buy:

...and here are some examples of the ones that will probably be worthless forever:

My guess is that most people have longboxes of the "unwanted" list,

and very few of the issues from the first link.

If you're talking about CGC graded Valiants...

CGC 9.8 Harbinger #1 (with uncut coupon) is the one to have.

The book sells for about $30 raw, but 9.8s are currently a commodity.

(One sale for $969, other "Buy It Nows" have been $750, $725, and $650.)

For raw books, here's a somewhat realistic price guide:

(Prices include shipping costs, this is a guide for buyers.

Books valued $3 or less shouldn't be sold individually...

since they are about $0.01 books before shipping costs.)

True story: One of my friends bought a case of Turok #1 and Bloodshot #1 and was laughing when I told him he was a insufficiently_thoughtful_person.

Q: "If everyone is speculating on these, who's going to want to buy them back?".

A: Hahahahahahahahaha

Ah, them were the days. cloud9.gif

I actively buy and sell pre-unity and late run Valiants and the low print run Acclaim books. I will take the commons if they are with the rarer stuff, but they are rarely worth the shipping costs. Greg's list is a great way to determine if you have something that is actively sought after.

Just PM or email me with a list.
