PGM Amazing Spider-Man #51

Hey all,

I just purchased this ASM #51 on eBay and I was hoping I could get some opinions on the overall grade for this book? My main concern is shown in the photos below, there is a cover blemish, might have been from tape accidentally sticking to and tearing off a small amount of the front cover. There is also a small stamp inside the book but doesn't effect story. The top half of the front cover is almost perfect for this old of a book from the photo, and the bottom half of the front cover has the possible tape tear, but the corners aren't so bad. So what do you think the grade would be? And would it be a blue label or a certified green?

Thanks you!

4.5 / 5.0

The stamp doesn't really factor into my grade much in my opinion. That long crease in the middle of the FC (through spidey's back) and spine wear probably keeps it at 5.5 / 6.0 before the tape pull then I'm taking it down a point for that.

Does the bottom staple look a little discolored?

Looks like the bottom staple looks a little darker than the top but could be the lighting, I don’t have the book in hand myself yet

Not too bad, based on what comics.gocollect I paid about the equivalent of a 3.0 book, so I guess I’ll take a 5.0. Overall the book Looks pretty good until you get to the cover mess up

GoCollect only tracks graded sales, though. Who knows what CGC would call this, and whether or not it's restored?

Hopefully you got your money's worth. :wishluck:

Hope so! I’ll eventually send it to get graded with my ASM 44 and a few other key comics I have

5.0 from me. That tape pull kills it. Otherwise, it has 7.0 potential with the gloss.

Even if it were 7.0 or so, the stamp is a non factor.

As is, I would think around $50 would be a fair price to pay. I wouldn't want to pay much more and preferable, would pay much less :)

Yeah I feel the same way, I paid about $47 plus shipping, i agree that without the tape pull it’s a 7.0 maybe a 7.5, unfortunate but still excited to have it

Yup it's a good one and a great cover for a second appearance.
