Frankielo
Just picked up this 9.6 originally graded in 2008, don’t know how different the grading criteria was then. Wondering if with or without a clean and press any shot at 9.8? Galen130
silversurfer275
No shot I wouldn’t even give that a 9.6 😂 leave it and congrats on the pickup Jim Baird
WoWitHurts
0% chance of 9.
alexgross.com
ditto the others, because of the top and bottom of spine. if you can see any kind of damage on a book, like here, there's no chance for a 9.8.

RhialtoTheMarvellous
Yep, 0% chance of an upgrade and likely it goes to a lower grade with those corners. Mine got graded recently and the only issue with it is that it has very light spine creases, the kind you have to angle the book in the right lighting to see. It got a 9.4. Ccmp99
Surprised that was given a 9.6!! I would hold off. Shows you how unscientific grading can be. Jim Baird
Frankielo
Indeed! if I put it next to my ASM 300 ss that's a 9.4 you would reverse the grades and I have a 252 that's a 9.6 that by these standards would be a 9.8.i read all these stories of grade bumps.maybe there are THREE things people lie about: how much they make, how big their _hands are and grade bumps! LoL.
Galen130
Yeah, leave it be. I’m not a fan of regrading unless I believe there is a solid reason for it. No 9.8 here...IMO.

JollyComics
Just stay there. If you resubmit it for re-grading and get 9.4, you will lose $300 to $400.
StreetPreacher
Do most people trust the CGC Grading enough to just buy blindly based on the subjective third party grade, and not bother examining the book contained within the shell? I haven't seen many 9.8 slabs in person, but of the few that I have seen, some seemed to have visible 'defects' that i thought would have immediately made 9.8 impossible, but CGC still awarded them the coveted 9.8 ratings... The short answer: No. There are sheep, though.
