Does anyone ever collect Artists such as these?

I wondered if when Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee went on to create Image comics, did anyone start collecting them? I tend to follow the Artists more than Story lines simply because of the beautiful artwork. Here is a sample of some I have that I was present for the signings at a Lone Star Comics Texas :

I collected Stephen Platt when he started drawing Moon Knight. Something about his art did "it" for me, but I stopped after he became a "hot item" in the mid-90s; his books were simply too expensive for me to casually collect.

Now I collect Carl Barks' Donald Duck books. But I find his stories to be as whimsical as his art...as dumb as that might sound.

And even Wally Wood's art for the EC books played a role in my interest in them...even though the stories tended to keep me.
