The Balvenie 14 year I'm drinking tonight is about $60, not too bad. It's the Mediterranean cask, basically Scotch aged in rum barrels. Tastes like honey, it's amazing - easily one of my favorites. Dalwhinnie 14 is in the same price range, maybe a bit more, has a hint of smokiness but not too much, really really smooth. There's always a good Glenlivet 12. If you ever do decide to splurge, McCallan 18+ is fantastic.

I looked it up The Balvenie 14 it sounds good! I like Bourbon Whiskey and dont spend more than $50.

I like Bourbon for making Old Fashioned's. My current favorite for that is Bulleit. Pretty smooth and not expensive

My 2 favorites are Bulleit 10 year and Henry McKenna 10. My buddy who got me started with B/W likes old fashions so I had one with Buffalo Trace and it was OK.

I keep being told to try Angel's Envy for Old Fashioned's. Once I finish this bottle of Bulleit I think I will. Ever had it?
