My copy looks very similar to your original posted picture, with that near-spine crease. I've seen that same crease on a number of NYX 3s and believe it to be a production flaw. It looks like it was pressed out and that's uplifting. I showed my copy to a dealer that presses really well but still they doubted it's candidacy because of it's proximity to the staples.
