well. i don,t know a whole lot about modern book.. but with silver and bronze age books. it put a serious premium on the art.

 

example. hulk # 181 i belive the art was herb trimpe. now bronze age trimpe pages sell pretty good on there own. the hulk pages even better. but add the 1st appearence of woverine and you have the making of an atomic bomb here.

 

if wovie was a so-so bland hero. today then the original pages to hulk 181 would be nice pages to have instead of the holy grails pages that they have become.

 

1st appearance and origin books will always carry a premium. aka. gs x-men # 1 x-men # 94
