Looks like micro-fracturing. The CGC slabs I have are all crystal clear around the edges, and to me that looks like plastic when too much pressure has been applied on a single point.

Similar with CGC a comic cases it’s probably from the sonic weld. I remember having a comic book case like that around 2003 or 2004. 
 

There have been a number of threads about this regarding the CGC comic cases over the years.
