Just found this thread earlier this evening.  Batman is my favorite DC character, but I don't have many SA's yet.  I'm working on it.  Here are a couple I picked up and will have in my hands soon.  They'll be cleaned, pressed, graded, and added to my personal collection. (thumbsu

I bought Detective Comics 355 new off the spinner rack on a happy day so long ago.

I've been after that book for a long time. I just missed an auction for it. Sniped at the last second, I had in a strong bid too. Ugh

I was shooting for a 5.0 because I already have Detective 359 in a 5.0. I think they go great together, along side Batman Adventures 12 which features Batgirl and Ivy on the cover with Harley Quinn.

I agree, I think they go great together too! I have 359 in a 4.0. I went in on 181 without a specific grade in mind, just two criteria - it had to present well (since I knew my price range was lower grade) and I had to get a deal where I felt comfortable. I went back and forth with the seller on BIN offers until we settled at a good place - ended up being just a tad under GoCollect's current FMV for the grade. It's a sweet book! And I know everyone says it, but I still can't believe the price of DC keys compared to Marvel. This would be a $1,000+ book in any grade if it were a Marvel character of the same caliber as Poison Ivy.

So true. I still can't figure that out either. I guess it could be somewhat attributed to the popularity of the Marvel movies, but Batman movies have been just as popular (if not more so) over the years, so that doesn't quite make sense either. All I know is that we can afford sweet Silver Bat keys, so it's all right with me.
