I sent in my first book 3/4/2021 to get Graded, the tracking said the received it 3/8/2021. Signed by a R. Brammber. I’m not expecting it to be done right away, I’m patient. However, I would like to know they received it. When I go to check status it says I have no Submissions...Is it in a stack of packages waiting to get opened still?

Yes, most likely.  It can take 2-3 weeks for it to show up as Received.  If your tracking shows as delivered, it is being stored at CGC, waiting in line to be processed.

Then the "turn around time" clock starts.  Which is kind of (read as "very") misleading, since this waiting period adds to the time it takes to get through the process.

Maybe now they are factoring that in, as I see the Modern TAT is at 50 business days, used to be high 20's to low 30's.  I hope that now includes the "waiting to open" time.

Imagine if the packing slip included a bar code we could put on the outside of the box, which could be scanned upon arrival and let us know it's been received.

You mean like Delivery Confirmation that already exists?  After you make your label, or drop the package at the post office, you enter the tracking number online at the carrier's site.  Then you can set up notifications.  It arrives, gets scanned, you get notified.  Been around a loooooong time.
