A Really Unexpected Pleasure 0

Was shopping on eBay and stumbled across a decent looking copy of a 1965 Avengers that caught my eye.  Looked at the pictures, and lo and behold I saw the following stamp inside the book:

Darrell Grimes was the owner of my local comic store in Eugene when I was growing up.  He's about 10 or so years older than me and he must have bought this book off the rack and stamped it.  That address is about 1 mile from where I grew up.  

And this book was being sold by a New York seller!  

I bought it for the nostalgia and good memories of the old LCS.  Darrell's retired now and sold the business.

What an unexpected pleasure!  Anyone got any SA books with this stamp?

Anyone else ever have similar surprises?

I picked up a copy of Amazing Adventures in an online auction lot and when I received it, it had a Jack Kirby signature on first page.  Consensus here was that it was legit.

I have a copy of Man-Thing #21 with a "Grants Pass Magazine Exchange" stamp on the splash page.

I thought this one was fun.  Star Spangled Comics 1.  It's not a SA comic, but I love the "JC Penny Shoe Repair" stamp.

Imagine...... Walking in to get your shoes repaired, and there's a copy of SSC1 sitting on a pile of magazines.
