Ultimate Spidey Videogame question

10 posts in this topic

Im watching a TV special on G4 about the upcoming ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN videogame. Bendis is on the show and saying that there will be tons of cameos of Marvel characters appearing in the game, INCLUDING many FIRST EVER appearances of ne ULTIMATE villains.

So does anyone think this game, or the cartridge, or the box it comes in, would or could or should become the collectible "first appearance" of comic characters that will have appeared FIRST in the game, and not in print? Is this a new direction of note? Or just one of those things... a new hype that will go nowhere special?

Now Stan the Man is on saying how cool it is.

Just to clarify, are you asking if we think you'll be able to make a million dollars if you buy a ton of these and hold on to them for 20 years (without taking them out of the plastic, of course)?

no no no. the query is more toward IF, as many believe, pamphlets are to become obsolete as this century progresses, to be replaced perhaps by videogame adventures of superhero characters in which kids/readers can direct their OWN superhero adventures, that IF this were to become the migration of the industry - - - Would these be the first appearances to collect?

Just trying to think ahead to be clever. And, if it were to happen, NO not a million dollars, but Videogame cartridges and boxes are ALREADY collectible now and this migration would swell th eranks to included people who would have been collecting the pamphlets.

without a system and its ability to play them those caretriges are effectively worthless. Just hunks of plastic

Not true. If you had a stack of early Nintendo caretriges but no NES would they still be worthless?
