Does anyone know why E Gerber " Current" sized backing boards have suddeny gotten so high? Amazon sells  50 pack for nearly $50 and ebay is just ridiculous.

I don't have an answer. For currents I usually do halfbacks, fullbacks for SA/GA. But that's just me. Not sure why fullbacks would have shot up in price.

They are $11.50 + shipping/handling for 50 Current Fullbacks on the E.Gerber site.

Unfortunately, many of the E Gerber products have become scarce over the last year.  Supply is very thin and some are charging higher prices because of it.

Because you are buying them from Amazon and eBay through a middle man who wants to profit from the sale. 

Buy them directly from E. Gerber. Problem solved.
