All opinions appreciated. Mostly interested to see how people feel the 'white spots'/colour loss(?) by the spine would impact grade. Could these be a printing defect?

They could be a manufacturing defect, but I don't think they are

Hard to say if the color loss is production-related or not without the book in hand. Likely not as they show up obviously near the spine edge (and the one halfway down also looks dimpled) but also as minor color rub near the Image indica and there's dark smudging or rub near the "N" in Spawn. I would call it minor.

I agree.  They could be stacking rubs, or just wear from being stored somewhere for so long.  8.5 isn't out of the realm of possibility...

8.5..seems like minor color rub loss to me
