I assume you mean just comic book artists and not comic strips and other comics so I will leave those out.

This type of thread can get a bit pedantic at times, as in a previous one someone suggested that Eisner, one of my choices, should be excluded because the Spirit Sections were technically newspaper strips.

If someone wanted to post Caniff, Foster, Raymond, etc, I wouldn’t complain.

You've obviously never read Kingdom Come. Each of the 4 issues was 52 pages.

It makes a difference if you've never drawn a comic.

Oh I see. I didnt realize you were in charge of my artist preferences,  good for you.👍

You can't vote for yourself Jesse

LOL. NOPE.

I'm a Jesse Jacobs fan.  I discovered him through his graphic novel Safari Honeymoon.

I now have everything he has published and that's a challenge with some of his low print runs. If you like fractal design, cool geometries, clean lines, and masterful execution combined with awe inspiring writing then he is your man.

You don't find artists as good a Jesse Jacobs who also write as well as Jesse Jacobs.  It's very rare.

Plus he's a skater.

How many interior pages does Alex Ross do?

What's the difference

Not that it matters, but I can only think of Marvels, Kingdom Come, and Justice, post 'fame'. Before that I know he did a Terminator comic at least, I think it may have been a miniseries.

And Justice he painted over Doug Braithwaite's pencils, so I don't know how you count that (end product looked all-Ross to me, though).

He also did those DC treasuries with Paul Dini, at least 5 of them (the Trinity, plus Shazam, and Justice League), and taken together, those comprise hundreds of pages of interior work.

Chris Ware

Great choice.

In my indie top 3, along with Charles Burns and Jaime Hernandez.

I'm sure Tom Brady is his #1. Surely he can draw brilliantly too!

Golden or Silver Age war comic artist ?

So obscure I’ve never heard of him.
