No, as long as they haven't been amplified through handling. They are a known manufacturing defect for this issue.

This copy has moderate(-) edge and spine wear with staple stress. A lot of it won't press out.

I've always wondered if that is a good thing or not. Good in the sense that I don't have to send it off and pay somebody to put it in it's "best" condition or bad because it can't really be improved lol.
