PGM ASM 23 3 3

Not so much a “please grade my” as it is a “do you agree with” or “test your grading skills” type scenario here. Wondering what YOU would grade this as. Major defect is the sun/dust shadow as seen.

I will reveal the grade in a couple days!

I'm no expert by any means, but I'll take a stab and say 8.0-8.5!

I will say a 7.5. I have a JIM #112 with a similar sun shadow. The rest of the book looks nice though. What is the page quality like?

Pics are great but slabs hide defects and with a white cover it's a hard read. Still, I'm going 8.0. I'm really only troubled by the spine and staple area - tough to see what's entirely going on there.

The spine does show some light wear near the staples. I might as well share

I do think 8.0-8.5 or better would have happened if not for the edge fading. Tis fine by me as I am happy to get these early ASM in any condition Fine or better

I'm leaning towards 7.5 but I wouldn't be surprised if it graded 8.0-8.5

I think that’s why it was hit hard. It’s dark along the top right for sure.

Ahhh but therein lies the difference between the Gold and Silver Age stuff my friend. Golden age books get a pass. Silver and Bronze will not

There is truth in that 

As someone that prefers Golden Age, I sometimes get stuck in grading other eras and need to readjust my expectations

I’m the same way as I’m often much too harsh on Golden age books when I try to grade them
