I asked Jen this question but I need to expand on that. So, she said she doesn't recommend including that in the book, so my question is, then how the hell will they know its a lost valley copy or should I just say the hell with submitting it at the risk of them just tossing it and not coming back as a lost valley copy.

When you submit a comic,  you can designate what pedigree it is on the submission form. They then verify it I guess against their Pedigree Database of known issues or visual database. The photocopy would also help I guess. but they may not use it as they say.
