Here is my favorite EC cover. I don’t own EC art.....yet. So many shiny baubles I am trying to focus on some Marvel goals.

But many of us love EC so show me what you have. Please tell me what it means to you. This could be entertaining visually and conversationally.

Experts and novice opinions welcome please. If you would share your art it would make it super creepy and cool.

Terry I didn’t know you owned the VOH 33 cover at one time! Big congratulations to Steve as the new caretaker. A very creepy and memorable cover. Always gets to me when kids are involved in the horror mix. It’s a jarring art accomplishment.

☠️

Yeah, I got it from Benno Rothschild who traded it to me for the Haunt of Fear # 6 cover along with a story swap.

Steve,

VOH 33 why?

What resonated with you? Was this a huge nostalgia win? Why this cover/story?

You know why, my friend :D  Btw there's a huuuge FB group called EC Fan-Addict Club.  Fast approaching 10,000 members, many of whom are active (i.e. well above the OAer count here).  Check it out and you'll get your month's fill of EC goodness, and then some!

Posted my cover there and it got close to 200 likes and dozens of comments, yowza...

Nadia and Joe really know their stuff. It’s remarkable the way HA has used a 🧲 to pull so much talent over to their company.

Thank you for contributing the Wally Wood’s from your collection. They are splendid to look upon. Wally is a legend, a pioneer, you name it. I’m always stunned by his level of skill and attention to detail.

Terry, those astounding pieces of art floored me. Thanks for posting.

Some of the other covers I had, that I no longer have scans of, included Haunt of Fear # 6, Vault of Horror # 14 (3rd issue), Crime Suspenstories # 13, a Gunfighter and another Modern Love.

Jack Davis:the war stories are just as well drawn as this example shows

Jack’s war stories were phenomenal. This is an exemplary page to demonstrate that point.

I have two EC pages. The first was from Mad comics, before it became a magazine to escape the comic code. This is the last page of The Countynental by Jack Davis. I loved how he’d draw bits and pieces falling off of his odder characters as they burst into scenes.

The next page is from Vault of Horror, and is the exact opposite feel of the Mad page. Shambolic zombies and horrified expressions replace Davis’ great sense of humor. Could any artist switch between humor and horror with such facile ease?

Off the top of my head, the Horror page is, I think, from 'Graft in Concrete'?  Penultimate panel, before CK's closing comment, looks like a paste-over.  Any art underneath . . . or is it too well-attached to investigate?

My only other remaining EC art is the complete book, 55 pages total, of Picture Stories from American History # 2 (1946) by Allen Simon.  From the time when EC was Educational Comics.  I bought the book of OA complete.  Here's the cover:
