Question on Insurance

Hello...I am helping a friends dad sell his collection.  Pretty great group of books.  ASM complete to 300ish, X-Men 1 to ~300, bunch of TOS, FF etc.

Question...He bought quite a few of the books off the rack in the 60's.  Many are high grade.  If a book has a FMV of over $25K...how does CGC insure the book when shipping back to the owner?  USPS only insures to $25K.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.  Funny story - he bought the ASM #1 from Howard Rogofsky (the guy that used to advertise in the comics back in the day), for $1.

When you start shipping 4 and 5 figure books around, it starts to become more cost effective to use a 3rd party insurance company. Basically insure the the entire collection for a 1 time annual cost that includes shipping coverage.  Then don't renew the policy once the books are sold.

Signature confirmation will be required, but insuring every book every time you ship through USPS, Fed-ex or whoever gets very expensive.

Good luck - sounds like an amazing collection.
