Early "New X-Men" question 0

Marvel Team-Up Annual 1 has the first "New X-Men" appearance outside of the X-Men title.

I was wondering exactly HOW early the appearance actually is.  Where does it fit within the run of New X-men comics?

The comic came out in 1976 but there is no month listed on the cover.  

X-Men 103 is the first XM issue that came out in 1977 so I know MTU Annual 1 is pre XM103.

Not that it correlates with publish date, but in Marvel Comics continuity, it takes place right before MTU 53. On the splash page of MTU 53 the new X-men are with Spider-man post Annual #1

According to Mike’s Amazing Newsstand, the on sale date was October 19, 1976 which puts it right between X-men 102 (September 21st) and 103 (November 16th).
