When I think of bronze age classic covers, the following come to mind (all Marvel as that was what I grew up with at the time):

  • Amazing Adventures 12
  • Amazing Spider-man 100, 101, 144, 148, 151
  • Avengers 63, 89, 96
  • Captain Marvel 17, 32, 33
  • Daredevil 81, 168, 181
  • Dr. Strange 169
  • Fantastic Four 120, 159, 232, 243, 257
  • Iron Man 53, 100
  • Marvel Premiere 1, 15
  • Strange Tales 169, 178
  • X-men 94, 101, 116, 133, 135, 137, 141

Magazines are a whole other ballpark as there are so many amazing Warren, Lampoon, and Skywald covers.

I have two National Lampoon covers that I really like, but I'm afraid they're both too sexual for these boards.

If you really want to see them, search for "National Lampoon Spanking Cover" and "National Lampoon High School Yearbook." Hey, I'm old, but I'n not dead yet. Also, just because you're on a diet, it doesn't mean that you can't look at the menu.

Post them because they're beautiful.

yes I have the spanking cover, there is also the coppertone cover, I have that as well. You can post either to the boards no problem. I wasn't sure if they get that designation, as mine aren't slabbed, slabbed is not found often for sale :)

I'm not as daring to have the year book issue lol

Fine, here's the NatLamp yearbook cover, since people are asking:

Great choices!

Yes, many candidates would come from the Spidey and X-Men runs.

Daredevil 158 comes to mind and Iron Man 47 as well

Most of what's posted are classic covers but CGC has not designated then so.

The classic cover designation by CGC looks to be a bit of a drag. A book gets it if it doesn't really have anything else going on for it (like a "first") other than the cover.

Since there looks to be very little in the BA, we might as well nominate those that should be recognized.

Here's one. I think CGC notes "Punisher appearance" (duh) but the cover makes the book.

I agree, great choices - so many great covers in this era - it was my sweet spot buying off the stands growing up - a couple of favorites are Dr. Strange #1 in the early bronze age and Daredevil 184 in the late - and almost all the Starlin Captain Marvels...

I got a copy a year ago and it keeps growing on me. A favorite now from the BA.

Always loved Frank Brunner and this one in particular - the original is currently up for sale at Heritage (for lottery winners & Crypto billionaires only lol)

I wasn't a huge Dr. Strange fan and was going to quit the series when he got his own title ut that cover blew me away.

Captain Marvel #29 is my candidate for consideration.

Grabbed one back in 2012 from MCS when it was still under $10 fab cover and inside art.

Avengers 186 anyone? I love the heads arranged down the LHS.

It's funny you mention X-Men #94 ... I don't think it's a very good cover at all, and I know some people who hate it.  GSX #1 is a far superior cover, IMHO.
