Dantegas
Hey all. So I have an Avengers Annual #10 1st Rogue I picked up at a show a few years ago and made the grave rookie mistake of not properly inspecting the back cover. Only now have I seen for the first time that there is a 3/4" to 1" clean scissor or utility knife cut in the bottom left area of the back cover. It's so clean that I completely missed it since I'm an insufficiently_thoughtful_person and didn't open the back cover to see it separate itself until now. Other than the cut, the book is flawless. What kind of hit would the book take in the forum's opinion? Trying to decide whether to grade it or not. Don't plan to sell it but I'm interested to know what it would grade to should I want to do so. Thanks!

On a recent book like that (all eras considered), it would get downgraded pretty harshly. The first grade allowing a 1 inch cut is 4.0, that's the grade it could come back as. Not worth grading as you'd be spending $40 on a $50 book. https://comics.ha.com/tutorial/comics-grading.s?show=comicdefinitions MAR1979
Topnotchman
Cgc would be in the 7.0 range if otherwise a 9.4.

Dantegas
Thanks for the input guys. I don't plan to get rid of it and I'll keep it as my reader copy. Glad I didn't spend too much at the time. I think I bought it in '14 for $40.

joeypost
I have seen small 1/4 years drop a nm+ book into the 8.0 range. The Lions Den
