Music – Check! Gore Gore Girls – recommended by jimmers. Libations courtesy of Wild Turkey, the good old fashioned Jerk Juice. Recommend by jerks everywhere, but particularly here.

The first couple books are purposefully pretty photo intensive, so that if you’re not familiar with cracking the various slab iterations, you will gain the knowledge of how to do it yourself.

I‘ve always wondered how much you look like your profile picture.  Uncanny.

Sure, it's any GA book worth less than $50 (or around that price). You can look in their consignment form, choose a Fawcett book at random for instance and see which grades they are willing to consign. If they are unwilling to consign them raw, then you have to get it slabbed to sell

glad you're the one to say it and not me

By the way, I imagine everyone to look like their profile pics for some reason. If @Bird doesn't have a mustache in real life, I'd be like

Thanks, I did not know that. Is it safe to assume the person who had 0.5 grade non key fawcetts that sold for less than slabbing price was not aware?

Someone slabbing remaindered copies of non-keys probably isn't a guiding light in how to maximize consignment profit.

I don't get it.  Why waste time and money buying slabbed books when you obviously don't agree with their grades on most books. Why not save money and buy them raw?

I don't have access to comic conventions or comic book stores. If you check most of those books, I probably got them for less than GPA or raw equivalents.

And, as bad as CGC can be at times, they are still head and heels above most other sources. Also, I do get a lot of CGC books that I feel are undergraded. I'm just placing my grade on them, so that I know where to go on possible upgrades.

I bid like a bottom feeder, and score quite frequently.

Sadly, my dog got attacked in the park by a deer in September, and somehow I got in the mix and ended up with a broken collarbone. The dog came out unharmed.

That incident and injury resulted in about a 20 lb gain that I haven't been able to shake yet.

Never bought a slabbed comic, but if I did I would crack it open and take it out immediately. I own comics books to read and look at. I would never own something I cannot read, look at or touch.

Thanks @lizards2 for showing your method.

Here's mine

Love it.

Sturgeon’s law proves true again. When I cruise thru the slabs listed on eBay - OMG.  We are totally supporting an industry that fills our landfills with plastic waste.

Good video

You’re not wrong. Any modern at a 9.2 and below should be cracked, or better yet, not sent to be graded.

I would have to include that 95% of the people that submit books couldn't grade their way out of a wet paper bag. Even CGC seems to be struggling with grading as of late.

Grading is difficult, especially if you don't know what to look for

I can grade by the old system, but for a point system I can be out a full point either way

Generally, I've done well with my submissions, but there have been some real head scratchers
