On the plus side, this movie being so amazing got me wanting more 'zilla that I went back and watched the past Godzilla films I missed....but on the negative side, it made me go back and watch the Godzilla films I missed - which turns out to be mostly the worst ones and now I have to rewatch Minus One to cleanse my pallet

Can't remember the last time I cried at a movie. Godzilla Minus One: great blend of directing like 'Jaws', dramatic soundtrack, horrors of war, family, no wokeness necessary to relate to survivors and tear up. 9/10 rating but the fact that Gojira movie budget less than $15 million USD garners 10/10.

I guess now I can truly state, "One time I rented out an entire theater for me to watch a movie by myself!"

That was fantastic and a very emotional post-WW II Japan story.

Great film. Good balance with scenes with people and Godzilla. Also the human characters were much more meaningful than previous Japan Godzilla films. Also the film looks and sounds nice.

OK, saw this today. Damn, if Parasite got a Best Picture nomination, and win to boot, then this should also get a nomination. Just an amazing movie. I'll admit I was hyped for the past Monsterverse movies when the first one came out but lost interest. So glad this one is starting new. Such emotion and story with a monster thrown in.

I posted that earlier. But for now, $15M is what the box office aggregator TheNumbers is registering for now.

I saw it last weekend, I thought it was great-- a little bit long but a real drama-- I haven't enjoyed a movie like this in a long time.

They are doing a special BW release on Jan 12th-- considering the setting BW is a perfect choice.
