Modern tier help
0

2 posts in this topic

Hello, I’m sure this has been discussed many times. But for modern “key” books how does one figure out value, and what happens if I’m wrong?
For instance nyx #3, ufo #4, edge of spider verse #2. Are these ok modern tier submissions or do they have to be put into a different category. What about stuff like Spider-Man 194, 238 etc.

Thank you for any help you may have

Good morning, thank you for your message.

The value we ask you for is an insurance value, a number you would feel comfortable with in terms of a replacement value if your book was lost or damaged while with us.  Each tier of service covers up to a maximum specified insurance level and you must choose a tier of service which will accommodate the declared value for your item.

You could check online resources to see what the same book in relatively the same condition sold for recently to get an idea of value.  You could also take the book to a comic dealer and have them appraise the book for you.  You could also simply put what you paid for the book.  There is no right or wrong way to determine value.

We do encourage you to be conservative as we do not reimburse you if you over-value your book. In the event that your book was grossly under-valued, we would contact you to bump the book to a higher grading tier and you would just pay the difference in the grading fees at that time. You can review our Declared Value Policy here:  Declared Value Policy.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Thank you!
