Does CGC have holders for original art?

CGC will slab sketches on comic backing boards as part of the Signature Series.  CGC has holders for rock posters (about 14 x 20) and various magazines, so that would hold modern art-sized boards.

If you're asking if CGC will grade original art, I think they can.  But it's a one of a kind so what would that mean ?

Do you want CGC to authenticate a piece of original art ?  That's a totally different service.  Depending on the artist, any number of dealers and collectors can arrive at a consensus.

Will_K is correct. It might be that you’re asking a deeper question. About authenticity or valuation? If you are give us more detail and we can point you in the right direction.

Actual graded and  “slabbed”11x17 on up and paintings should  never become a thing. You should never see an 8.0 Kirby Avengers page in slabs.

The only grade I’ve ever given art is one of a kind. The only slab a good ole frame.

That being said many collectors appreciate accurate descriptions and detailed pictures before buying art. There are condition “issues” that bother one collector and not ten others. There’s serious issues like water damage that can lead to mold, many may not want to deal with that.

We know a fella named Mark that paid a princely sum for a complete BWS Conan story. He didn’t care for tape and other hodge podgery on the back of the OA pages.
